Nebraska Class A High School Upgrading Football and Track Facility

After next summer (2012) there will only be one Class A high school playing football games on natural grass. Columbus Nebraska is the latest community after Norfolk, NE (completing their project this summer) for installing a synthetic turf football playing surface.

Many field upgrade projects are minimizing built-in custom logos on the synthetic turf fields as reported in the article due to costs. The going rate, according to the article, is $20k to $25K for a custom midfield stencil and $2,100 per letter for an end zone stencil. With improved manufacturing processes and ingredients there are now more custom logo solutions in the form of permanent and removable paint as wells as aerosol and bulk chalk. Tru Mark continues to introduce solutions to solve sports field and facility managers field marking requirements.

Tru Mark's TrailBlazer permanent (Solar Trail) and removable (Rally Day and Season Ticket) formulated paints for synthetic turf paints help minimize initial and maintenance costs. The Tru Mark SwitchBack Double Play Liquid Chalk, the latest introduction, is formulated to apply like paint using an airless line striper, yet performs like traditional powder chalk requiring no special removal agents nor extensive cleaning actions. Also, Tru Mark offers an aerosol chalk solution for those quick marking tasks using the traditional aerosol line striper.

Tru Mark also offers football and custom field stencils for upgrading the playing surfaces. Have a logo that you are considering then send Tru Mark a good quality digital image attached to an email for a free price quote.

This has been the first report on synthetic turf field stencil pricing I've read in the media. I would use this as a ball park figure. For example a "standard" size 28' x 28' custom logo at $25,000 this is about $32 per square foot. Given the amount of labor involved in installing a custom logo this appears to be reasonable. For an end zone letter stencil that typically is in the 10' wide x 16' tall size range the pricing is $13 per square foot.
